Dr. Larson studied Orthopedic Surgery under two of the most recent presidents of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine: Dr. Freddie Fu and Dr. Champ Baker. During his training he helped care for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pitt Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and many other professional players, high schools, and colleges. He specializes in arthroscopic treatment of joint and ligament injuries. One of his focused specialties is treatment of chronic and repetitive kneecap dislocations. He brings many new techniques to Winchester including arthroscopic surgery on the hip, ankle, and elbow as well as standard procedures such as ACL reconstruction and rotator cuff repair. He is the Team Physician for the Winchester Storm and is one of the coordinating physicians for the medical team at the 2011 Babe Ruth World Series in Winchester. He is leading the local extension of the AOSSM epidemiologic study on youth pitching. He and his patient wife live with their two energetic boys in Frederick County. He is an avid fly fisherman and ties his own flies. He can also be found almost every Saturday morning stocking up at the Freight Station Farmers’ Market.
