Dr. Kemp is a local native. He hails originally from Luray, Virginia in Page County. With over 15 years of experience, he has been in the practice of Orthopaedic Surgery since 1994. He began his studies in with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Virginia, graduating in 1983. He obtained his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery The Genesys Regional Medical Center in Flint Michigan in 1994 and has been in private practice ever since. He is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. He has had the distinction of reviewing other Osteopathic Orthopedic Surgeons for their board certification as well. He spent three months in a total joint arthroplasty fellowship at the world-renown Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University. He has been the Head Team Physician for James Wood High School for many years now, providing coverage to their sports teams. He remains the Medical Director for the local Boy Scouts of America Camp Rock Enon. Special interests in joint replacement, sports medicine, shoulder reconstruction and hand surgery compliment his general orthopaedic surgery practice. Dr. Kemp can manage your problems from “shoulder to fingers and hips to toes.”
